Lucas Blakely was born and raised in Welland, Ontario. He started acting after being kicked out of his Grade 10 drama class when his teacher encouraged him to channel his energy into auditioning for the school musical. He later graduated from the Theatre & Drama Studies program at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, and has appeared in multiple productions.

His Theatre credits include: Hamlet (9M Theatre), Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike (Alumnae Theatre), Romeo & Juliet (Sunbeam Theatre), Arms & The Man (Scarborough Players), Blithe Spirit (Theatre Erindale) and many others.
He is also set to play Duke Orsino in Unchained Theatre’s production of Twelfth Night later this year.
